Hello Friends!
I thought that perhaps you would like an update on my upcoming move to New York?
So here is the scoop. I have several emails in to The King's College for direction on setting my Fall class schedule (perhaps it is because of their recent move to Wall Street but I seem to have fallen a bit through the cracks....). Once my schedule is set then I will dig into securing a part-time job, and all the while I am looking into housing. My dream is to live somewhere in Brooklyn and I recently heard word about a potential apartment with four other girls in Park Slope, which sounds like it could be a fun adventure. I feel a little like I have been holding my breath that everything is going to come together in time. Have I mentioned how scary this all is? Some days it's the paralyzing kind of scary and on others it's just plain exhilarating..
While waiting for all of the other details to knit together, I have begun working on a packing list. As you can see, it's the most awesome packing list ever... Perhaps not super practical but I see it more as packing a "comfort emergency kit" of sorts. The rolling pin is vital for making my favorite southern comfort food "chicken and dumplings, minus the chicken". The books are some of those that have helped to launch this journey and will hopefully be key in re-invisioning me whenever I inevitably find myself wondering "why the heck am I here". My "first piece of art", a lovely fashion sketch, purchased earlier this year from Katy Smail, a illustrator living in New York. Featherbed to keep me cozy during the chilly New York winter and so on...
I'm also working on a New York playlist to feed my inspiration. Do you have a song to contribute?
