Oh my word! How true this statement is of my weekend. As I was talking to a co-worker this morning she said "It sounds like you need a weekend to recover from your weekend". While this is incredibly true! I would not trade a single moment of my weekend. Actually I am pretty sure it is going to go down in the history books...
Friday, was all about seeing life through the eyes of a child.
The afternoon kicked off at Arabica Lounge with my friend Kels, her daughter Ava, and my sister Anna. It was so sunny outside that we almost didn't know what to do with ourselves... The chalk was brought out and before long the side walk was covered with everything from flamingos to birds...imagination is beautiful.
Later, Anna and I met up with my parents to check on the progress of the ferris wheel... I can't wait for it to open.. though I must admit walking by the pier was not my favorite experience, the atmosphere was tinged by the trash and I honestly hope Seattle does a little cleaning before the grand opening. Riding the ferris wheel is supposed to be a magical experience right?
Next we did a little shopping at U Village followed by meeting up with our friend Liz at a neighborhood pizza place in West Seattle for dinner...Everything abot the spot reminded me of Germany. When we first arrived there wasn't any seating available but a group of Europeans offered to let us share their outside table.. they began talking and I found out they were German, what are the chances? As us girls enjoyed the delicious food (even figuring out the scissors) and soaked in the atmosphere...
All of a sudden a chattering troup of four little girls scampered in and took their places at the bar. They acted like they owned the place, and come to find out their Dad did. I was mesmerized watching the bar tender serve them up water with little straws as they chatted with him and their Dad about the adventures of their day. The girls were a fantastic whirl wind, just as quickly as they arrived they dashed back out the door.. leaving only empty water glasses in their wake...
I wrapped up the evening by taking my final Anthropology test of the quarter - whew! Thankful for a little break while I prepare for New York.
Check back later to hear about the rest of the weekend...
